NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Regarding Proposed FY 2027 Budget and
Proposed FY 2027 Applications for Federally Participating Projects
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) has scheduled public hearings to present its proposed FY 2027 budget and invite public review/comment. The proposed $84 million budget includes $70 million for operating expenses and $14 million in capital costs. The proposed budget calls for new and expanded commuter services that would be paid for by the state as part of the I-95/395 and I-66 transit and transportation demand management plans and commuter choice program.
PRTC is the federal grant applicant for federally participating projects that PRTC, Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FXBGO!), envision applying for in FY 2027. Public comments are invited on all those projects as proposed.
Public comments will be accepted:
- Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Potomac Library Community Room, 2201 Opitz Blvd., Woodbridge.
- Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Manassas Mall Community Room, 8300 Sudley Road, Manassas. Use mall entrance #1 between Macy’s and Uptown Alley. Inside the mall, turn right. The Community Room will be on the left.
- Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM – Virtual Public Hearing. To receive the meeting link, contact Christine Rodrigo by May 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM at crodrigo@OmniRide.com or 703-580-6122.
Materials detailing the proposed budget and federally participating PRTC, VRE and FXBGO! projects will be available at OmniRide.com prior to the public hearings. Print copies of the proposed budget are available upon request by emailing crodrigo@omniride.com. Comments may be made during the public hearings or may be submitted no later than Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM via email to publichearing@omniride.com, or in writing to:
